Special note to 99s: Hillsdale Blvd. is just 2 freeway exits (about 3 mi.) North of San Carlos Airport (SQL)(lower right in the map above)! Phone Bruce Grant (650-595-5961) if you plan on flying in to see Fran; if he's nearby at the time, he may be able to meet you at SQL and save you time and taxi hassles. If nothing else, he can clarify for you how to get to Fran most efficiently, based on the time of day (traffic!).
39 West 38th Avenue is in San Mateo, one block West of El Camino Real (Highway 82) and 3 blocks South of Hillsdale Blvd. El Camino Real is about 5 blocks West of the Bayshore Freeway (US 101).
Fran's location is 1.3 mi. from the Bayshore Freeway (US 101) Hillsdale Blvd. exits. These are the same freeway exits as the ones taken by visitors to Fran when she was at Hillsdale Manor SNF, except her new location is on the opposite side of the freeway (West), 3 to 5 minutes away.
Fran's new location is also easily accessible from the Junipero Serra Freeway (Interstate 280) via Highway 92** East, to US 101, then South to the first exit (Hillsdale Blvd. West).
** NOTE: When traveling via 280 during commute time, it's easier and usually faster to take the Hillsdale Blvd. exit from Highway 92, then travel East on Hillsdale Blvd. to Edison St. (on the West side of Hillsdale Shopping Center), turn right and go 3 blocks to 38th Ave., then turn left and go 3 blocks to the house.
